Edison Jr./Sr. High School band and choir members will be making holiday music during Christmas concerts slated for mid-December.
The Christmas Choir Concert is set for Dec. 14 with seventh- and eighth-grade singers taking the stage at 6 p.m. and grades 9-12 and the A Cappella Choir performing at 7:30 p.m. Vocal Music Director Dani Carroll said the choirs will perform a collection of holiday, secular and winter songs to ring in the yuletide season. Admission is free but donations will be accepted to benefit the music program. A potential snow date has been scheduled for Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively, in case of inclement weather.
The junior high band will host its concert on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Band Director Marc Sansone said admission is by donation only and proceeds benefit the band program. The seventh- and eighth-grade bands as well as the jazz band will perform a variety of holiday tunes, including “Let It Snow,” “Christmastime Is Here,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” music from “The Nutcracker” and a Sounds of the Season medley.
