The Edison Local School District is a participant in Ohio’s Early Literacy Pilot. As part of the Literacy Pilot, teachers in grades Pre-K-3 are receiving professional development through LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling.) This professional learning community involves the implementation of evidenced-based literacy practices through explicit instruction.
During the 2019 Ohio Literacy Academy in Columbus, Olivia Ault, a student at John Gregg Elementary had the honor of introducing State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria. Among the people in attendance were some of the leading researchers in the field of Literacy.
What a great tribute to Olivia and the Edison Local School District! Check out the Edison Local Facebook page to hear Olivia’s story and her introduction of the State Superintendent!
