Joanne Johnston is Edison High School’s Employee of the Month for January. Joann has worked for Edison full-time for 18 years. She has an education degree in Dairy Science and Agricultural Business. Joann will have been married 32 years in July to her loving husband, Jeff. They have two sons, Jacob and Joey, who are both Edison Alumni, and a wonderful daughter-in-law named, Jenna. Jacob went on from Edison High School to obtain his degree in Physical Therapy from Kent State, his wife is a Dental Hygienist and they now reside in Gnadenhutten. Joey was awarded a degree in Geology from the University of Akron after graduating from Edison.
In addition to the full-time 18 years of employment, Joann served as a substitute for 4 years. Throughout the years, she has held a variety of positions including cook, special needs preschool as well as general education, preschool aide, Kindergarten aide, SBH aide, attendance aide, and MH aide. Although she has enjoyed many positions at Edison Local, her home in MH has been her favorite by far. “I love working with the students and passing on my love of cooking to them. I feel blessed to work with Mr. Ferrell who is such a wonderful teacher and cook,” she says.
