The Edison Jr./Sr. High School Band and Choir are celebrating the season with upcoming winter concerts.

EHS Band Director Marc Sansone said junior high members will perform on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. It is a free concert but free will offerings will be taken to support the band program. Seventh- and eighth-grade musicians and the EJHS Jazz Band will be featured and will play a bevy of holiday classics including songs from “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and a jazz version of “We Three Kings.”

Choir members will take the stage on Dec. 17 with junior high members performing at 6 p.m. with senior high singers around 7 p.m. The event is free but a donation is being accepted to benefit the music program. EHS Vocal Music Director Greg Hofmeister said the evening’s soundtrack will include yuletide favorites such as “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Fruitcake,” “Stars I Shall Find,” plus selections from “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and Jewish tunes “Hava Natshira” and “Ose Shalom.” Hofmeister said students will also do a little dancing and acting with a few of the songs while the audiences are invited to sing along to a few Christmas carols.

“We are making it an interactive concert for both the junior high and senior high,” he added.
