Students at John Gregg and Stanton Elementary Schools got into the Christmas spirit and raised about $2,054 for the Todd Smith Memorial Scholarship program. Students spent the week of Dec. 7-10 donning gay-themed apparel during the “Either/Or Dress-Up Week” and paid $1 a day to participate.
Each day, they had a chance to wear holiday pajamas or a robe, a hat or socks and an ugly or cute sweater, the latter featuring a character from any holiday movie or song. That Friday, they took part in the Edison Challenge with grades PreK-2 partaking in a “Red Out” and grades 3-6 in a “Green Out.”
