In multiple races topping over 100 runners, the fast course at Claymont proved to be full of action that favored our Edison Runners. Our cowbell crew of fans scattered the course to support the kids in each race.
The Varsity Girls faced off against 16 schools and finished 4th overall. With a focus on pack training this week, the one-two punch of Josie Lesnansky (2nd) and Laurel Kemp (7th) started the waterfall of finishers. Brittney Mynster (20th), Paige Somerville (25th), Natalie Lucas (44th), Kennedy Baker (45th), and Jenna Kelley (63rd) rounded out the team.
The Varsity Boys competed against 20 schools and finished 6th overall continuing to show they are going to be competitive at large invitationals. Gage Cable (17th) led the boys followed by Max McConnell (32nd), Brock Koehnlein (34th), Blaine Hoobler (65th), JJ Reynolds (79th), and Logan Gubanez (82nd).
For the Junior High, Nate Kline (15th) led the boys followed by Ronnie White and Ronin Hartman. For the girls, Leila Cable (24th) finished first on the team followed by Layla White and Leah Hendrix. The junior high teams are unable to secure a team score as a minimum of five runners is required; however, they are improving their times, working hard, and building our program!
The Cats will be back on the course in Martins Ferry next Saturday. Good luck!
