Young musicians will take the stage for the Edison High School Marching Band’s annual Varsity Show performance on Nov. 3.
Band Director Marc Sansone said the event is set for 7 p.m. in the school auditorium and is by donation only with contributions benefitting the Jack Moorehead Band Scholarship Fund. Sansone added that the concert will feature music from throughout the fall season with a blend of pop, rock, disco and alternative sounds.
“It will be a 1 ½-hour concert and will include special lighting,” he said. “We’re spanning at least five decades in the world of music from disco to 80s and 90s alternative and rock, metal and pop.”
Among the songs included are “That’s The Way I Like It,” by KC and the Sunshine Band to “Push It,” by Salt-N-Pepa and “Shut Up and Dance,” by Walk the Moon. The band includes 70 members and the performance will also highlight the drumline and a salute to seniors.
