Swimmers Open Season at Dover

The swim team started their season Saturday at Tuscarawas YMCA, participating in the Dover Invitational.  Swimming with 22 teams, 255 participants, it was a long day but a great benchmark event. Swimmers could compare their 2022-2023 season start times with their 2021-2022 end of season PR’s.  The first official times of the year allow swimmers to set short and long term, individual and team goals for the season. New members of the team are introduced to meet protocol. The Boy’s team was able to score 27 points. The 200 Medley Relay team placed 8th (Bryce Bregenzer, Gage Cable, Aiden Ferguson, Luke Linscott), 11th in the 200 Freestyle (Gage Cable), 8th in the 100 Breaststroke (Gage Cable) and 8th in the 400 Free Relay (Issac Pudder, Gage Cable, Aiden Ferguson, Luke Linscott).

The team is looking forward to swimming their home opener tomorrow at the Steubenville Natatorium, when all of the teams that practice at the facility will be competing. This will include Martins Ferry, Indian Creek, Steubenville Catholic Central, Edison and Steubenville Big Red.  The meet begins at 6:00.
