The school PTO is offering up a variety of activities to mark the occasion on Wednesday from pictures to parties for all of the kids.
“The entire day is filled with all kinds of fun,” said PTO President Tera Cook. “We are going to do pictures with the Easter Bunny, ice cream during lunch and all grades will enjoy an Easter egg hunt. We will finish off the day with Easter parties in the classrooms.”
She added that a $1 donation was being accepted for the photos to help cover costs for prints. Cook said the Easter events were held annually but having the Easter Bunny on hand was a new addition.
The organization is very active within the school by providing parties and other fun events for students.
“The PTO does an extensive amount of activities for the students. Each holiday is celebrated with classrooms parties filled with treats, snacks and a game. We have a spring and fall assembly that all the kids get to enjoy,” Cook continued. “Twice a year, we have a book fair for the kids to purchase a vast variety of books. In October, we had a Trunk’N’Treat in the school parking lot, plus Dr. Seuss week was celebrated with cookies and a coloring/diorama contest. Once a month, we do a fun snack sale during lunch. During Christmas, we had a craft shop and all the kids purchased crafts to make for loved ones.”
Upcoming events include a murder mystery dinner fundraiser on April 14 and lunchtime treat sales with trail mix on April 21 and lemonade and popcorn on May 5. The PTO is also working with related arts teachers on an art show May 16 while Lunch with a Cop is set for May 18 with Fun Day on May 19.
“The PTO is a hardworking group of parents that take time out of their day to ensure the kids have some fun during the school year,” Cook said.
