Edison scored two runs in the first inning and made it hold up for a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Indian Creek in Wheeling.
Audrey Scott came through with a two-out double to score Ellie Joynson and Pressly Meadows to put the Wildcats on the scoreboard.
Becka Evans had reached on a hit by a pitch to start the inning. Ellie Joynson pinch ran and promptly stole second base with one out.
Pressly Meadows followed with a single moving Joynson to third base. Meadows eventually moved up to second base with two outs.
That set the stage for Scott’s huge hit to plate both Joynson and Meadows.
