Softball downs MF and Buckeye

Edison went on the road Thursday and won for the 8th time in the last 10 games.

The Wildcats scored two in the third inning after squandering opportunities in the first and second.

later, the Cats added Five runs in the 5th to take command of the game. 

The big hit was a grand slam by Ali Shrieve followed by a solo shot by Anna Wadas.

Katie Fluharty pitched and gave up zero earned runs while striking out 7 and walking 5.

Shrieve for the game had two singles to go with the home run while Wadas also had a single to go with her home run.

Other hitters for the Cats were Pressly Meadows a double and a single, Audrey Scott two singles, Becka Evans a double, Katie Fluharty a single.

Edison is now 13-8 on the season. 

Edison was able to avoid the rain and get a regular season game in Friday defeating Buckeye Local 11-3.

Becka Evans won in the circle scattering 9 hits while striking out 5.

offensively for the Wildcats the team collected 11 hits on the night with 8 going for extra bases.

Becka Evans helped her own cause with 3 doubles on the night.

Ali Shrieve had a home run and a single.

Morgan Martin had a double and a single.

Audrey Scott contributed a triple.

Pressly Meadows and Pam Johnson both added a double.

Grace Browning also produced a single for the Cats.

Edison will now travel Saturday Morning to Wheeling to face Oak Glen in the OVAC Championships. Game time is 10:30 at Wheeling Park High School.

Edison is now 14-8 on the year.
