Music on Tap at Stanton

Stanton Elementary students will exhibit their musical talents with a free concert at the school.

Fifth- and sixth-grade band and choir students will perform on May 12 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium with the theme, “I’ve Got the Music in Me.” Music Director Dani Carroll said the event will include about 60 students performing tunes and it has attracted several hundred spectators in the past. An added feature is a choreographed cup routine by fourth-graders who have taken part in other programs such as the “Stanton’s Got Talent” virtual show.

“These students will play between the band and choir performances and choreographed their own routines,” she said. “There will also be a few soloists.”

Carroll added that the young performers have been preparing for their chance to shine.

“The students have been working hard to prepare their music for the concert. Band students will be sharing symphonic music, folk songs, marches and Rock’N’Roll while the choir has been working on a variety of music as well. The choir students will even be singing in a foreign language.”
