Edison Men’s Swim Team places 11th at Cloverleaf

Saturday, the Wildcat Swim Teams traveled to Wooster High School with 29 other schools to compete in the Cloverleaf Stampede.  Combined, the members of the Wildcat Men’s and Women’s Teams achieved 16 Individual and 4 Relay PRs throughout the course of the meet.

In the Men’s Meet, 21 of the teams in attendance scored points in events throughout the day.  The Edison Men’s Team placed 11th behind the top 5; Lexington, St.Clairsville, Cuyahoga Valley Christian, Watkins Memorial, and Willard.  Wildcat placings and points came from the following events and individuals; 200 Medley Relay (8th Buchanan, Larkins, Cable, Linscott), 200 IM (11th Buchanan), 500 Freestyle (9th Cable), 200 Breaststroke (Medalist 3rd Cable, 8th Larkins), 400 Free Relay (8th Buchanan, Larkins, Linscott, Cable).

The top 5 finishers in the Women’s Teams were Louisville, Lexington, Shelby, Watkins Memorial and St. Clairsville. 9 of the Wildcat’s individual and 3 relay PRs on the day came from the Women’s Team.

At the traditional Amish Door dinner following, while passing out medals and ribbons, the 5 freshmen and underclassmen were reminded by the Seniors to always remember that the first time they attended the meet, only 1 team point was scored. Consistent improvement comes with hard work, dedication and growing the program.

Senior Night will be this Thursday, January 4th, at Steubenville Big Red Natatorium. All teams that practice at Steubenville throughout the season will be competing in this meet and recognizing their Seniors at the break following the 50 Freestyle event. This meet begins at 5:30.
