Wildcat Swimmers Finish Season on High Note, Including New School Record

On Friday morning at 9:15, the Wildcats were in the pool at Ohio University’s Aquatic Center to warm up for the OHSAA District Meet.  The District Meet constisted of the top 32 individual and 24 relay times from the Central, Southeast and East Districts, Sectional Meets combined. The Men’s meet was in the morning session, followed by the Women’s meet later in the afternoon. 
Nolan Buchanan, Gage Cable, Micah Larkins, Luke Linscott and Issac Pudder represented the Wildcats in 3 events. 

Driven by some personal and team goals, the team finished with their best times of the season. In the 200 Medley Relay Nolan, Micah, Gage and Issac finished 2nd in their heat, 18th overall and dropped 1.92 seconds. In the 100 Breaststroke, Gage finished 2nd in his heat, 9th overall and set a new school record of 1:04.47! The biggest team goal, with many driving forces, was achieved in the 400 Freestyle Relay with Nolan, Issac, Luke and Gage all hitting subminute 100 splits. They dropped 6.21 seconds to finish 18th on the day. It was a day of excitement and pride in outstanding performances by all 5 of them. 

The top 3 individual and 2 relays at Ohio University were automatic qualifiers to the State Meet. The top 32 individual and 24 relay times from the combined 4 District Meets across Ohio will compete in the State Meet this week in Canton. 
Congratulations and good luck to the following swimmers representing the East District this week in Canton; Relays – St. C Men’s Medley and 400. Individuals – Zach May and Evan Yost (St.C), Cole Long (Beaver Local), Elizabeth Lane, Tom Perkowski and Richard Tolloti (Dover), Collin Addy (RiverView) and AJ Lawler (Tri-Valley).
