Concert, Fundraiser on Tap for EHS Band

Music and moneymaking are on tap in the coming weeks to benefit Edison High School’s music program.

The EHS Band Winter Concert is set for Tuesday, March 12 in the school auditorium at 7 p.m. Band Director Marc Sansone said the concert band will perform selections from “The Dark Knight,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas, “Blue Ridge Saga” and “Africa,” plus it will highlight some of its soloists from the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Solo and Ensemble.

“This is a free concert but we are accepting donations,” Sansone added. “Any monies collected will benefit our scholarship fund.”

Meanwhile, organizers are gearing up for the annual Sportsman’s Bash on Saturday, March 16 at the Saline Township Complex.

Doors open at 3 p.m. at the site located at 164 County Highway 50 in Hammondsville and the bash runs from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and will be available at the door. The cost includes dinner and the event will feature dozens of raffles with more than $10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs. Sansone said proceeds will help the band with operating expenses.
