Something Wild

Jefferson County Wildlife Officers Craig Porter and Kiri Williams visited Stanton Elementary second-graders on April 10 to discuss their roles through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as well as wildlife around the state as part of the school’s “Our Edison Community” speaker series. Guidance counselor Megan McNear said a program is held each April and officials talk to classes at Stanton and John Gregg Elementary about how they contribute to the community. Other upcoming speakers include representatives from the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County and the Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Center.
