Edison Local Board of Education
Aaron Richardson of Richmond, Ohio was elected to the Edison Local School Board in 2017. A former student of Edison High School, he has a BS in Political Science from the University of Akron and a JD from the University of Akron School of Law. Aaron is currently a partner at Blake, Bednar Blake, and Richardson in Steubenville. He is married to Kimberlie Richardson and enjoys fishing, golf, and working on classic cars.
Ron Smyth of East Springfield, Ohio has been serving on the Edison Local School Board since January of 2018. A graduate of Springfield High School, Ron has a BS in Education from Kent State University. Over his career he has served as a bus driver, teacher, coach, and athletic director for Edison Local Schools. He had the unique opportunity to coach at each of the district’s three original high schools. Ron currently serves as a member of the OVAC basketabll committee. Ron and his wife Nancy have two children: Kim and Mark. He has also been a Freemason for over 25 years and member of the Loyal Order of Moose for 32 years. Now that Ron has retired, he enjoys watching sports.
Scott Lockhart of Empire, Ohio has served on the Edison Local School Board since 2010. A graduate of Beaver Local High School, he has a BS and a MS from Mountain State University. Scott is the Compliance Officer at Hancock County Savings Bank and holds a CRCM certification from the American Bankers Association. He serves as the Vice Chairperson for Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, the Vice President of Edison Central League Baseball and Softball Association, a board member of East Liverpool Rotary, the President of WVO Basketball Association, and a member of Columbiana County Umpires Association. He and his wife, Cindy, have a daughter Kelsie and son Tyler. Scott enjoys being a movie extra, golfing, playing softball, officiating basketball, and being a baseball and softball umpire.
John Prokopakis of East Springfield, Ohio has served on the Edison Local School Board since 2013. A graduate of Jefferson Union High School and Jefferson County JVS, he is the Maintenance Manager for Ardagh Metals and co-owner of KJP Enterprises. John has also served on the Jefferson County JVS School Board, is a member of the Mingo Sportsman club Board of Directors and belongs to the Pemmc Engineers Organization. He and his wife, Kelly, have two boys and twin girls, along with one granddaughter. In his free time, John enjoys riding his Harley, riding RZR side by side, and camping.
Tracy Wright of Steubenville, Ohio has been serving on the Edison Local School Board since 2007. A graduate of Wintersville High School, she is a phlebotomist at Weirton Medical Center. Tracy and her husband, James Wright Jr., have two children: a son Christopher, who is married and lives in Toronto with his wife Mary and a daughter Kayla, who is engaged and is living at home while working and attending college. Both are graduates of Edison High School.
