Federal Grants & Programs

Title I

Title I funds were used to pay the salary and fringe benefits of five Title I teachers in the Elementary Schools and Junior High School, and also professional development. Any parent may request the professional qualifications of their student’s classroom teachers or paraprofessionals.

Title II

Title II-A Funds were used to pay for professional development as well as the salary and fringe benefits of one class-size reduction teacher. Our professional development for the 16/17 school year included a presentation from Debbie Silver, a Poverty Simulation, Universal Design for Learning, and Best Practices including Google Docs.

Title IV

Title IV A Student Support and Academic Enrichment Funds were used to pay for after-school enrichment (Destination Imagination), professional development, creating a better school and community relationship, and student enrichment supplies.


IDEA-B Special Education Funds were used to pay the salaries and fringe benefits of four Special Education teachers and one classroom paraprofessional.

Early Literacy IDEA

Early Literacy IDEA Funds paid half the salary and fringe benefits of our District Literacy Coach. Early Literacy SSIP Funds paid the cost of substitutes while our other teachers received training.

Early Childhood Special Education

Early Childhood Special Education Funds were used to pay the prorated portion of salaries and fringe benefits of three preschool classroom teachers and two paraprofessionals. In addition, these funds purchased supplies and equipment for the preschool special needs classrooms. Transportation costs were also paid with these funds.

Dyslexia Grant

Dyslexia Grant Funds were used for after school Orton Gillingham tutoring, summer school salaries, instructional supplies and transportation of the summer school students.

We strongly encourage parental participation and input regarding the distribution of State and Federal Grant monies including Title funds awarded to our district. These revenues are used to enhance the education of our students. Any parent interested in serving on a committee should contact your child’s principal or the Federal Program Coordinator.
