Our Mission

Our mission at Edison Local School District is to get our students prepared for tomorrow, to be enrolled, enlisted, or employed.

Home of the Wildcats

The Edison Local School District encompasses 208 rural square miles in the northern half of Jefferson County, Ohio.  We educate nearly 1500 students and employ 189 professionals in our three buildings,  Edison High School, John Gregg Elementary and Stanton Elementary.   Edison Local works diligently to be good stewards of the $21.6 million budget the communities of Irondale, Stratton, Empire, Richmond, Amsterdam, Knoxville, Pleasant Hill, East Springfield, Wolf Run, Hammondsville and Bergholz provide for the education of our children.

Edison Local Schools strives to prepare each student for enrollment, enlistment or employment by providing  individualized education through the traditional classroom setting, the ECAT Online Learning Program, Project Lead the Way STEM, Computer, Engineering and Biomedical Science programs and the 5 Star Rated Preschool Program. We take great pride in student college and  career readiness through College Credit Plus and Industry Recognized Credentialing. Students are encouraged to expand their opportunities in vocal and instrumental arts,  agricultural career education, computer information career technology courses, extra curricular activities, community service organizations and athletics.
