Greenhouse, Outdoor Classroom spaces planned for EHS

Wildcats drop decision to Southern Local

The Edison Boys Basketball team lost to Southern 58-45. Leading the Wildcats in scoring was Tremendous West with 21 points. Deacon Rawson contributed 10 points and Dakota Coil chipped in 6 points . The Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday at Union Local with the JVs starting at 6.

 John Gregg Elementary hosted “Be The Light,” an all-school Christmas program on Dec. 15 which drew about 700 people between the morning and afternoon shows. Principal Tammy Burchfield said the morning program was also livestreamed online for people to watch at home and classes in grades PreK-6 and individual students sang holiday carols and songs of peace while other talents included soloists

Edison Sock Drive Benefits the Needy

Edison Jr./Sr. High School students, staff and supporters are keeping people warm this winter with a sock drive to benefit the needy.     Junior high math teacher Greg Marsh teamed up with EHS senior Morgan Lesnansky and her Ohio Valley Youth Initiative, a youth-led group which has completed service projects such as community cleanups and fundraisers for charity. Edison Beta Club Packs the Pantry

The Edison High School Beta Club held a school-wide food drive to benefit the Amsterdam Food Pantry. The organization collected more than 1,000 non-perishable goods and packed the pantry shelves to help local residents in need. Edison Students Raise Funds for Scholarship

Students at John Gregg and Stanton Elementary Schools got into the Christmas spirit and raised about $2,054 for the Todd Smith Memorial Scholarship program. Students spent the week of Dec. 7-10 donning gay-themed apparel during the “Either/Or Dress-Up Week” and paid $1 a day to participate.
