Jamie Angelini

Special Education Director

Jamie Angelini is in her third year at Edison Local Schools as the Director of Special Education.  She has returned to her Alma Mater after residing in Southeast Columbus, Ohio where she was the Director of Special Education for 8 years. Prior to being the Director of Special Education, she was an Intervention Specialist in Autism units at the School of Bright Promise and Carrollton Exempted Village Schools.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University in Recreational Therapy, Intervention Specialist K-12 Mild/Moderate License, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration to include Principal and Superintendent licensure from Franciscan University of Steubenville .  She is currently working on her doctorate through the University of Toledo with an emphasis in Special Education Curriculum & Instruction while earning a Preschool Special Needs and Teaming Endorsement.

Special Education

Edison Local School District provides services to students ages 3 through 22 identified as disabled under Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA). Special education services are provided in accordance with Ohio’s Model Policies and Procedures for the Education of Children with Disabilities.

Approximately 13.17%  of the Edison Local student population has been identified with a disability. The special education students’ needs are typically served in the regular education classroom with additional support provided by an intervention specialist. Special education services are provided according to each child’s individual needs and in the least restrictive environment.

The Edison Local School District is committed to the identification, location, and evaluation, as required by IDEA and federal regulations, for all children between the ages of 3 and 22.
